What We Do

Turtle Monitoring
We walk the beach every night to monitor nesting turtles and their eggs. Each survey is lead by a trained research assistant hired to guide volunteers during a four-hour survey. If a turtle is encountered, the eggs are relocated or transported to the hatchery and data about the nesting turtle is collected for our research.

Turtle Hatchery
We manage a hatchery on the beach that ensures eggs are protected and hatchlings make their way safely to the ocean. Conservation and education are the main purpose of the project and our hatchery provides an opportunity for visitors and volunteers to have a close encounter with hatchling turtles.

Community Projects
Parismina is a small village with a lot of opportunity for volunteers to assist with community projects. Projects include: beach habitat restoration, community garden maintenance, communal vegetable and fruit garden development, and community art projects.
